Why We’re So Obsessed!
Last year we added dream vacations to our Bucket List. Due to the pandemic, that never happened. And now we want to travel more than ever before – and we want to do it without having to break the bank. One of our new favorite go-to’s for booking our trip(s) is Booking .com. While they’re known for their amazing travel deals, but love that there are no hidden fees – which can be a total drag when you think you’re getting a certain price and then at the very last second – BOOM – hundreds of dollars in additional fees. Booking.com makes things totally transparent throughout their entire process and we’re here for it all!
While you can almost always get a great deal when it comes to booking your flight, we’ve had the best (ever) experience when booking a last minute trip to Nantucket and finding the cutest inn at an amazing price. And when we say last minute we really mean just 1 week prior to us leaving.
When we tried to focus on living in the moment and being more spontaneous we decided to jump on a dream destination for us, which was Nantucket. Little did we know that most things book-up, up to a year beforehand. We didn’t know! We checked some of our other favorite go-to sites like Expedia, the amazing Airbnb, and even Vrbo – but we weren’t able to find anything available. Well, truth be told, we did find one home to rent last minute, but it was $42,000 for the week. Imagine?!
We actually saw a commercial for Booking.com and thought we’d at least give them a try. It was like hitting the jackpot! We found a few different inns to choose from in Nantucket that were still available. We have no idea why the other sites didn’t list them, but Booking did! We were able to even score a deal that brought our nightly rate to right around $550 – which, sure, sounds like a lot but this is still Nantucket we’re talking about!
Oh, and since we were ill-equipped with how things work on the Island, we didn’t realize we kind of needed a last minute car rental too. Luckily we were able to find a Jeep rental (which really is the only way you should be buzzing around Nantucket anyway) and were able to take an extra 10% off. That totally came in handy because…did we mention everything on Nantucket is so expensive?!
Outside of hotels, of course, you can book a bunch of other things too like:
There are always some great ways to save on any given day when you go direct to their site – but if you can hold out they typically have some amazing deals during Black Friday and Cyber Monday. In the past, they had offers to save up to 40% off – which is pretty insane and always worth it. However, if the pandemic taught us anything it’s, don’t wait! Who knows where we’ll all be in 6-month or a year from now. When you can do it, book the trip. And check out Booking.com when you do. We think you’ll love the experience just as much as we did. We’re kind of obsessed!
What’s Their Promo Code Policy?
After some pretty lengthy research (we couldn’t find a clear answer) we finally found out their official promo code policy. Here’s the deal. Booking.com does accept valid promo codes, coupons, and discount codes – whatever you want to call them. But, they don’t really send them out. So you should definitely subscribe to their emails because that’s really your only way to get active promo code offers – it must come directly from them.
And while we don’t have any exclusive offers here, there are some cool ones we’ve found on their own site. Just double check to make sure they’re still valid, as they’re always subject to change:
