We’ve never had a better consignment shopping experience than we had at ThredUP. If you’re not familiar with them yet, get ready. You’re about to and it’s going to totally change the way you buy (and possibly even sell) designer clothes. As you know with consignment, they typically have secondhand/gently worn clothes and accessories.
With ThredUP they won’t accept everything that’s sent to them, so they’ll inspect it, give it their stamp of approval (or not) and then list it on their site. They currently have over 35,000 different brands, many of which are top designers that we normally couldn’t afford. But now we can because you can score these designer threads for up to 90% off the original price. They’re actually our go-to for J. Crew items that we wish we purchased last year, never did, and now can’t find it anywhere. We were able to get a J. Crew wool coat that was already discounted 40% off for an additional 50% off. Insanity. Some more popular deals include:
ThredUP covers fashion, style, and accessories (like designer handbags) for women, juniors, and now kids. They even have an entire maternity section, which is amazing because those clothes are usually so expensive and you may never really wear them again. Totally genius.
The real best thing of all is their prices. They even have a sale section where you can get an additional up to 50% off. Shoppers are usually looking for additional coupons and promo codes and ThredUP makes it easy because they’re very transparent on their discount codes. They even list out their ways to save. Our best tip is to simply sign up (for free) with your email and you’ll get an extra 20% off your first purchase and they’ll even send you an email that’s basically like a game where you could even get up to an additional 50% off.
